Service Description
Join this monthly class utilizing yoga movement, meditative practices, and journaling to increase self awareness and practice meditative reflection. Barbara Young believes that everyone has inner wisdom that is unique and important. She will guide each session, working with various topics of self-inquiry, helping participants step away from the hurriedness of life to tune in to this wisdom. Barbara is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Certified Yoga Instructor (200 hours), and a student of meditation and mindfulness. She combines for knowledge and passion from these pursuits as well as her learnings from time spent in wilderness to guide people back toward themselves with compassion and curiosity. Frequently asked Questions: 1. What will the class be like? There will be a different topic of self inquiry each month. Once the topic is introduced, Barbara will guide the class through yoga and meditation in order to turn inward and "tune in" to the wisdom of the topic within yourself. There then will be time for reflection and journaling, and a wrap up for the session. 2. Do I need experience to join? No. The yoga will be mixed-level (so some knowledge of yoga could be helpful, but not necessary) and Barbara will be guiding and teaching the meditation portions of the class. 2. Do I need to come to all the classes? No, come to any or all. 3. What should I wear? Comfortable clothes suitable for yoga and sitting. 4. What should I bring? A journal and pen (or drawing instruments if you prefer), yoga mat if you would like (there are yoga mats at the studio). 5. Do I have to share in class? No, there will be times of group reflection, and sharing at this time is OPTIONAL. 6. Is registration required? No, not at this time, but its helpful.
